No I do not have an obligation to friend you back - Mark Dykeman
That, right there, is the point! - Vijayendra Mohanty
No I do not have an obligation to friend you back - Louis Gray
Agreed. I wish we could get rid of the "friend" verbiage altogether as it implies a level of personal commitment and intimacy that shouldn't be necessary. - faithx5
Agree, Jandy. I prefer "connection" to "friend". Better yet, let ME label/group those connections with the relationship I define: "friend", "family", "coworker", "virtual buddy I've never met in RL", etc. - Lindsay Donaghe
How about subscribed to? - Christopher Welle
I wonder how long it will be before people start using 'friend' as a verb IRL. "Hey, I friended this really sweet babe at the ice-rink last night". - Philip Tomlinson
I've never had a policy to immediately follow someone just because they've chosen to follow me. But I know that's the expectation and that sometimes people get, uhm, "miffed" if you don't. I'm forever being told that I'm doing the social media thing wrong because I like to keep my circles small. Maybe I am. And it's not that I don't find people generally interesting. It's just that my poor brain can only take in so much information. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. - Patricia
