If you’d like to submit your own how-to, what-is, or top-five list, you can send it to me. Another bag with speakers. This time from Sharper ImageSharper Image (actually ENE, a company that sells under the Sharper Image brand) has just released what they call the SoundBag. It is a backpack that is said to improve the listening experience for people on the go. It incorporates a detachable flat panel speaker system that is made from fabric, making it hard to distinguish from other parts of the bag. The bag features an adjustable shoulder strap that includes a 3.5mm plug, a built in stand so that the speaker can be used separately and an auxiliary input. It runs on 3 AA batteries that should provide 8-10...

Nokia E63 hands-on While the N97 was free to fondle, the slightly less exciting E63 was decidedly bolted to a table, so we had to take what angles we could get. The phone is basically a cheap-o version of the E71: Nokia figured it had a good thing going on in that QWERTY candybar, and decided to spread the love at a lower price point, with a slightly thicker, plastic handset. The good news is that no matter what you do to cheapen the phone, the E63 comes from good stock, and is really a compelling form factor. The slight bump in...

Nokia N97 Announced N96 buyers, consider yourselves screwed. Nokia’s just announced the N97, continuing the kitchen-sink tradition of the N9x series. Perhaps taking a cue from the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, Nokia has made their new flagship a side-slider, which reveals a QWERTY keyboard underneath. Standard high-end features like WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA, and a 5 megapixel camera are on-board, as well as the welcome integration of the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. More info, specs, pics, and a video for those who keep reading. You can expect the N97 to offer the usual Symbian S60 5th edition experience (to be found on the...

Ultra Stylish Personal Soundtrack Shirt Available Now [T-shirts]The Personal Soundtrack Shirt started as an April Fools' joke by ThinkGeek, but now it's available as a real, buyable product. Featuring a Velcro-detachable speaker that's powered by four AA batteries, the Soundtrack Shirt includes a 20-button remote to cycle through preloaded or personal music and sound effects that are sure to put the "assy" in "classy." (And we mean that in the best way.) But in case you aren't interested in using the remote, the shirt also accepts a standard 3.5mm input, allowing you to play your MP3 player of choice through the speaker all day long and share...

I Hate iTunes!iTunes has to be one of the worst applications Apple make. It it truly awful. I find it incredibly difficult to track where files came from, what's on my iPod Touch and not, what are duplicates and so on. The poor interface means I have files littered about my hard drive and on my iPod which I can't be sure I've listened to.For a long time I used a MobiBlu cube. This is a fantastic device. Mine has 2GB of memory, a tiny screen and simple USB interface. By numbering my MP3 podcasts, I could easily see how many I'd...

Seiko develops world’s most solar-efficient clock Seiko yesterday announced it has developed the world’s most solar-efficient clock [JP]. The HS533W will go on sale in Japan at the beginning of next month (price: $310). Seiko hasn’t said yet if the device will ever find its way outside Nippon. The clock, which is just 8.5mm thick, comes equipped with a CR2032 battery as a backup power supply. Seiko says in dark places, the clock will work for 2 years powered by the CR2032 alone. The company promises that solar energy alone is enough provided the clock gets around 8 hours of sunlight each day....

iPanda iPod Dock Panders To Bear Loving Music Enthusiasts [IPanda] What's black and white and acts like a bamboo(m) box? The iPanda, an adorable iPod docking station by animal-themed audio system makers Speakal! The China bear-shaped dock boasts four speakers and a 4” subwoofer for 25 watts of sound and “360° sound distribution.” Pump up the volume by touching the panda's left ear, or lower the sound by touching the right. Don't worry, give it a go—unlike real pandas, this one won't bite you when you try to hug it. Turn the speaker dock on and the iPanda's little smiley mouth will light up. Nokia announces the 6260 Slide Today Nokia announced the latest handset that runs on its S40 platform, the 6260 Slide. The 6260 takes its styling queues from the 6220 Classic and boasts an amazing 2.4″ 320 x 480 HVGA screen. It basically is the perfect handset for those who want nearly everything and more from a mobile phone but for some odd reason don’t want a smartphone. Why someone would want this much juice but not want it to run on S60 is a question in and of itself, but we’ll leave that for another time. Specs from the Nokia data sheet are as...

Motorola Announces Hint QA30 Phone, Hints It’s Going to AlltelWow, feature-phones with full QWERTY keyboards are really taking off. This morning, Motorola announced the newest one, the Moto Hint AQ30. It reminds us a lot of the $79.99 Samsung Propel on AT&T.  But the Propel has just a 1.3MP camera, the Hint offers a full 2 megapixels, and instead of running on AT&T’s HSDPA network, the Hint is fit for EV-DO 3G networks. Notable features on the device include stereo Bluetooth, e-mail capabilities, streaming video, and a microSD slot for up to 8GB of additional storage. We also like that it has a full 3.5mm headphone jack and that...

Alltel’s Motorola QA30 officially announced as the Moto Hint Either the timing was just right or Alltel really knows how to move. Either way, the recently-acquired US carrier just made its latest handset official and it definitely has a good chance of being popular among the younger crowd. Just yesterday we saw the Alltel-branded Motorola QA30 and today it it has been announced as the Motorola Hint. We’re not sure what it’s hinting at but here’s a quick recap of the specs: 1x-EVDO connectivity 2.5 inch TFT display with 320 x 240 pixels and 65K colors Threaded messaging Full HTML browser Facebook access Email, IM 3.5mm headset jack...

Motorola Hint QA30 - a QWERTY-sliding phoneMotorola has officially announced a new cellphone, Moto Hint QA30, which has a pretty unique design. It’s a QWERTY-sliding phone and first in Motorola’s line. As shown in the picture, the phone looks rather short compared to others, when the QWERTY is hidden. You have to slide out to reveal the full QWERTY keyboard. So when you don’t need the QWERTY, you just slide it in to hide it and the phone becomes a smaller, much more pocketable. The Motorola Hint QA30 features a 2.5-inch 320 x 240 screen, which might be considered too small for some people. This phone...

Verizon Announces Samsung Omnia The Omnia's announced, everybody, at long last. It'll be online tomorrow and in business channels around the same time, in physical stores on December 8th. Counting legacy devices, the Omnia is the 7th phone currently available on Verizon's network. That's nothing to sneeze at. Neither are the Omnia specs, which match what have been rumored: 240x400 screen Windows Mobile 6.1 5mp Camera 624 MHz Processor 128 RAM (sigh), but 8gb onboard storage TouchWIZ interface Opera 9.5 Browser WiFi, Bluetooth, EVDO GPS DIVX support Samsung's sticking with the optical mouse and the lack of a 3.5mm headset jack. What they're...

Able Planet gaming headphones prevent hearing lossWhen it comes to gaming, headphones are often the choice for gamers for many reasons. One being that no one complains about the constant explosions and another is that many gamers like the sound you get form headphones. The catch is that many gamers run the headphones at volume levels too high and can be causing hearing damage. Able Planet has announced a new set of gaming headphones called the PS500MM that promises to help gamers save their hearing by integrating LINX AUDIO technology to allow gamers to use lower volume levels and still get full and rich sound. The...

Sprint’s BlackBerry 8350i in the woods For those of you clinging to your iDEN network with dear life, you probably never thought this day would come. Well, it has, and we’ve got some live pictures of Sprint’s BlackBerry 8350i. One of our ninjas took some time out to photograph one for us and gave us a quick rundown. Here we go: The 8350i has a 2.5mm headset jack, not a 3.5mm one, and it comes with a 2.5mm headset in the box. Ships with the much beloved plastic holster, not the leather holster we’re accustomed to. There’s a small size difference. It’s around 2mm taller...

Motorola QA30 QWERTY slider shots leaked, headed to Alltel No it’s surely not the Alexander we’re all waiting to hear more about, kind of, but it looks like Motorola has a QWERTY slider in store for us by way of Alltel. The bad news is that it won’t be home to Android, Windows Mobile or any other smart OS. The good news is that, umm, it could have really good battery life thanks to a dumb OS and a 65K color screen, maybe?
