What’s Up With Cadence? —

Cadence Design Systems (CDNS) shares have bounced impressively today from their recent sell-off; but if there is a catalyst, I can’t find it. On October 15, CEO Mike Fister and a number of other execs were pushed out; a week later, the company postponed a planned earnings announcement after finding accounting irregularities concerning revenue recognition. The result: the Street threw in the towel. The stock fell 45% from March 15 through last Friday. But the stock has since changed direction, and today is up 74 cents, or 22.4%, to $4.05.
