Kanye West gets a “tweetposter”Uploaded with plasq’s Skitch! Kanye West is a little upset about being impersonated on Twitter. There have always been celebrity impostors on the site (and a growing number of real celebs actively using it), but Kanye seems to get a little more sensitive about this kind of thing: he’s much more hands-on with his audience than the average star, so it’s natural that he would take it a bit more personally when someone steps in on that territory. As Twitter grows, I wonder how they’ll treat this kind of situation. Do they immediately turn over the false account, as may...

Delicatessen Owner "Totally Gets" Why People Hate His PlaceSince opening over the summer, Delicatessen, that trendy restaurant-bar-lounge-tool magnet has been pissed on, robbed, and threatened by neighbors furious about the hotspot's cacophony. Now the Observer has piled on too, declaring it "undeniably the city’s most loathed new restaurant in 2008." Even if you know you hate the place already, it's a fun read, detailing how owner Mark Thomas Amadei, 35, installed Delicatessen in the space formerly occupied by the humble Buffa’s Coffee Shop, which he frequented during his N.Y.U. days. Amadei swears he's unfazed by all the hate because he went through the same thing with his Chelsea...

Paypal Gives the Gift of FruitcakeWant to get in the holiday gifting spirit? Wait no longer because you can send fruitcake to your friends this holiday! PayPal has launched the Regift the Fruitcake campaign which is a basic gifting application on Facebook. The application is comprised of two basic components: a global gift tracker and celebrity videos. Fall Out Boy, Tony Hawk, Yao Ming, Ben Roethlisberger, Jimmie Johnson, and Nicole & Joel Richie, have each created videos encouraging users to donate money. The idea is a pretty cool one. The six celebrities have passed along gifts via the Facebook application, and the only way to...

The End Of Online AnonymityIt seems we're approaching a new age here on the Internet. Instead being anonymous, faceless IP addresses, social computing and changing technologies have allowed the lines between the "real" world and the "virtual" world to blur. Web 2.0 helped create a world where your identity is revealed in bits and pieces as you share snippets of your life online - a photo here, a Stumble there, a tweet, a Digg, etc. However, the rise of social media is only one of the changes that is busy shaping the new web. Trevor is absolutely correct. Privacy rights are essential, even if some people may choose not to exercise them. Keep in mind that most of these services were developed primarily to further commercial purposes, not necessarily to make individuals' lives better. Many users may accept the trade-offs in using cross-site identity services (or may not be savvy enough to make a properly informed decision), but it is clearly a choice whether to use them or not. - Logical Extremes

"“In a world … where men worship flannel … and even hookers don’t put out on the first date … one man learned the difference … between love and loonies … ” Not to be outdone by its colonial cousin Australia, lately immortalized on-screen by Oscar-nominated director Baz Luhrmann, the proud Commonwealth Commonwealth Realm of Canada has commissioned its own eponymous sweeping epic, this one starring national treasures Dan Aykroyd and Alanis Morissette as two lovers separated by language, ideology, and the great Molson-Labatt debate." - Abby Martin

Rosie does not equal ratings - VIDEOFiled under: Video, Ratings, Reality-FreeIt looks like Rosie Live has been declared dead. Her attempt at reviving the variety show format tied for the lowest-rated program of the evening.Frankly, I don't think it's necessarily a death-knell for the format so much as the host. Rosie's highly-publicized feuds have certainly soured me on watching any sort of television program hosted by her.In comparison, Stephen Colbert's A Colbert Christmas pretty much embraced the variety show format (with enough changes to keep it modern and interesting) and it was great entertainment. Granted, cable stations don't have the ratings requirements of network and the...

None of the big shots featured in Celebrity PingPong magazine would stand a chance in a match against a nunchuck-wielding Bruce Lee. This amazing viral video leads to a Web site where a digitized Lee kicks some ass with his Nokia N96 phone. Though made for a Chinese audience (ostensibly for a product sold in China), the video has traveled around the world in a few short days. No doubt, like me, the world is now going to travel to China to pick up an N96 and a little bit of Bruce Lee sickness. —Posted by Jeremy Greenfield...
