I agree with John Gruber on this one, so far Tweetie is the best iPhone app for Twitter out there (I’m sure more are on the way). It’s meets most of my mobile Twitter requirements. You can download it for $2.99 from the iTunes Store. Here’s a breakdown of it’s features: - Handle multiple twitter accounts. - View your timeline, replies, direct messages and favorites. - Browse your friends and followers. - Post new tweets, retweet - Reply directly to tweets and send direct messages. - Follow and unfollow people. - Mark tweets as favorites. - Navigate reply chains....
Earlier on this week I got the opportunity to road test a new Twitter app for the iPhone/iPod touch. Tweetie was developed by a company called atebits and was submitted to the app store pending approval on the 11th of November so it should be out very soon, in the mean time I thought I would quickly run through some of services and features of Tweetie and some early thoughts. Okay so first up is the feature list. Handle multiple twitter accounts. View your timeline, replies, direct messages and favorites. Browse your friends and followers. Post new tweets, retweet, reply...
Filed under: Internet, Windows, Macintosh, Linux, E-mail, Browsers After spending some time in the beta tank, the Opera browser team has released Opera 9.6. The latest version of the Opera web browser adds a few new features, not all of which are related to the web. For instance, Opera has a built in email client. Opera 9.6 has a new low bandwidth mode that prevents attachments from being automatically downloaded if you have an IMAP account. For POP users, just the first 100 lines of a message are available unless you click on the message.Opera 9.6 also has a new...

“Gee, that looks complicated.” This was what I said when I looked through a friend’s project proposal, which included a mind map of madness. She replied, “It has to be, if I want it to look professional.” As a fan of living a clutter-free life, I had to disagree. With web workers being more prone to information overload and cluttered inboxes, it’s even more important for us to simplify our work. So how do we keep things as simple as possible? Avoid “feature creep”. When a program has more features than is necessary, that’s what programmers often refer to as...

Initially available only to US and UK users, we’re now getting word that other regions have gotten a taste of the Google juice as well. Google explains Gmail Labs as follows: Gmail engineers come up with new ideas all the time. Gmail Labs is our...
Filed under: Windows, Blogging, Social SoftwareThere are already more desktop apps for Twitter than we could ever possibly cover without losing our minds. But what about that OTHER microblogging service, Plurk? A couple of people have hacked the mobile version into Adobe Air to create two similar apps: PlurkAir and PlurkIt. This is ok for now, but it's nowhere near the level that Twitter clients have achieved. That's where Plurker comes in. It's scheduled to be the first dedicated Windows desktop version of Plurk, and the feature list looks pretty impressive. Sort Plurks using custom searches, set alerts for private...
