It’s obvious that Jon C. of Overoften’s Kumamoto Diary loves Kit Kat. He has what is probably the largest selection of strange Kit Kat flavors on the Web. His Flickr photoset includes pineapple, green tea, melon-flavored snack and many more! Here are his picks of the strangest Kit Kat ever (soy sauce Kit Kat, no kidding!): Link | Flickr Photoset...

This is just annoying. Where is the Windows Mobile, Palm, heck, even java app for this one? Sent to you by Lulu via Google Reader: Amazon Releases iPhone App via GottaBeMobile.com by Warner Crocker on 12/3/08 I figured this would happen someday and I'm glad to see it has occurred. Amazon has released a shopping app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. I haven't given this a try yet but according to Gear Diary the app allows you to shop the site, read reviews and use the iPhone camera to take pictures of items you'd like...
The Panasonic LX3 is assembling a long list of reviews, which is a sign of great interest in a camera. The latest LX3 review comes from wedding photographer Ryan Brenizer who is also the photography-blogger of Amazon.com. Pros and cons are listed, but no spoilers here. One quick teaser: there is mention of the "D" word in the "Cons" segment! For more on the LX3, be sure to check the LX3 diary. We have fallen behind on all the diaries, thanks partially to the Nikon D3x and the Black Cyber Fri-Monday. We hope to catch up by Friday. To see...
One of the things I enjoy most about being part of the Gear Diary team and whatsoniphone.com is the opportunity to get to know some the developers creating apps for the iPhone. Over-all I have found them to be a really interesting, nice and creative bunch. Best of all, as I have discovered more than once, many are committed to constantly improving their apps and are surprisingly receptive to end-user input. This is certainly the case with the game Cronk. … [visit site to read more]...

Filed under: Diary of a DistillerIt's been quiet here at the winery the past week.We had our first snow and the temps have been in the 20's and even down to the 'teens at night. Mostly we have been prepping for the Holiday Season, repairing and hanging lights, bottling wine, and sprucing everything up. We're also hosting a Gingerbread House Competition at our culinary school and restaurant, Pairings, and lots of folks have been taking classes and coming by to work on their cakey homes.I'm in NYC visiting family all week and going around meeting up with all my mixologist...
Congratulations to Symbian megablogger, Ricky Cadden, founder of Symbian-Guru.com. They’re two today! Clever James Whatley had a note in his diary about this. Time, then, for a quick Q&A with the Caddenmeister himself: What handset were you using when you first started Symbian-Guru? Ricky: It was the first S60v3 handset I got, which I *believe* was the N80. 90% sure. Can you remember what applications you were using on your Symbian handset then? Ricky: The biggest one was Symella. That’s why I started Symbian-Guru in the first place - Symella got ported to S60v3 (from S60v2) and I wanted...
Hot on the heels of yesterday's DC-Resource review, we have a brand new G10 review, this one by dpreview.com, and with new reviewer Don Wan. As always, no spoilers here, we don't want to inject bias into the initial readings of the reviews. But the recommendation rating is certainly going to be hotly debated (see below). Reactions to the review It's finally here exclaim the Canonites in a thread that is headed for 150 in a matter of a couple of hours. "We surrender, sincerely, Canon and Nikon". What??? Well, not quite so, but one Canonite takes exception to the...
I certainly don’t have anything against giving to charity, but the Salvation Army knows damn well what it’s doing. First, they position a red bucket about a foot outside the grocery store by my house — so close that you have to deliberately walk around it like an A-hole to get in or out of the store — and second, there’s a different person ringing the bell each day so the whole "I gave you something yesterday" excuse goes right out the window. So now it basically costs me whatever spare change is in my pocket to go to the...
