Stocks fall sharply after dour economic data — NEW YORK — Wall Street is down sharply in early trading, but so far showing little reaction to a pair of downbeat economic reports. Both the housing and manufacturing sectors have been suffering for some time, so the reports were ultimately unsurprising. Wall Street is...

Downbeat economic news expected on Election Day — WASHINGTON — After months rife with uncertainty and unprecedented events that have roiled and reshaped Wall Street, at least one major unknown should be cleared up Tuesday _ who will be the country's next president.
