Brand Watch: Lexus Sponsors iCue ApplicationYesterday, NBC News launched a new application called What’s Your iCue?, which creates trivia games around content in the NBC News archives. Today, Appssavvy, NBC’s sales partner for the iCue application, is sharing news that it has signed up Lexus as lead iCue sponsor. Right now, it looks like the sponsorship essentially consists of deeper visual integration on several pages within iCue. While it’s a pretty basic integration, it’s nice to see a brand like Lexus taking a step into the Facebook application world. Check out the screenshot below....

Social Media Ad Rep Firm Appsavvy Gets $3.1 Million FundingAppsavvy, an NYC-based startup focused on selling ads across social media apps, has received $3.1 million in first round funding, led by True Ventures, and additional investment from About.com Founder Scott Kurnit. The company, founded last year, sells direct ads on social media applications, working with with brands and agencies. Apps companies working with the company include Flixster, FrozenBear, MesmoTV, Playfish and SGN, among others. Ad Network Appssavvy Gets $3.1M Series A Round Even As Ad Market TanksOnline ad downturn or not, apparently there's still plenty of money left to fund fledgling ad networks. Appssavvy, an ad network for social network applications, closed a Series A round led by True Ventures with participation from About.com founder Scott Kurnit.
