JuiceCaster Brings MMS to the iPhone with FlutterFor a good while JuiceCaster has allowed users to share photos and videos with friends via the Web and through third-party services like MySpace, Facebok, Blogger, Xanga, and others. And it’s made a decent share of news with releases associated with these functions. It’s been featured in AT&T’s MEdia Mall. It was updated in May to include geo-tagging. It’s even got an application custom-built for use with BlackBerry devices. And just days ago it was added to the Nokia Download store. The next device on the list: the iPhone. Sharing photos and videos with friends via the iPhone of course...

A Million Rich People's Personal Info Sold for $65 on eBay [Security]I don't know how many times people have to sell other people's personal information on eBay for everyone to learn about security, but apparently it's not enough yet: an ex-employee sold his company-provided computer on the auction site for $65, carrying banking data belonging to more than a million people. The new twist this time: these people are dirty rich, high-street bank customers of companies like American Express. Thankfully for them, the guy who bought the computer was not Robin Hood. The hard drive in the computer contained, completely in the open, mobile phone numbers, bank accounts, mother's maiden names...

Locked iPhones can be unlocked without a passwordPrivate information stored in Apple's iPhone and protected by a lock code can be accessed by anyone with just a few button presses. The iPhone, like most mobile phones, can be locked with a four-digit code, but where other phones in their locked state only permit calls to emergency service numbers such as 911 (in the U.S.), 999 (in the U.K.) and 112 (throughout Europe), a locked iPhone can be used to make a call to any number.[ Learn how to secure your systems with Roger Grimes' Security Adviser blog and newsletter, both from InfoWorld. ]However, that's not all you can...

BlastGroups is a new service that has set out to replace your casual groups on sites like Yahoo with features that combine group capabilities with email blasts, in order to easily share content with a given group of friends. BlastGroups gives users the ability to create and join multiple groups, and manage content across these groups. Instead of a networking format that you may be accustomed to, BlastGroups works a lot more like Twine, with a bit of Pownce functionality mixed in for sharing a stream of content with friends. You can bookmark content as you surf the Web...

Recently launched Tatango provides a one-to-many SMS text messaging service. Tatango reminds me of another startup, Chatterous. With the growing popularity of Twitter and its inability to target groups, services like Tatango and Chatterous could become acquisition targets. Tatango is perfect for getting help from your friends when you are out and about. It could also work well for work teams to make sure everyone is up-to-date on project and meeting status. Here's how it works. You setup your friends mobile phone numbers in Tatango, Then you create a message to send. Tatango then sends out the message via SMS to all members of...

Respect my Privacy!Lately I have seen a lot of attention focusing on the growth in popularity of social networking sites. Internet interaction has become an integral part of society, how we communicate with our friends and make new acquaintances. We all know the risks we face with our online activity but people are still revealing a lot more than they should on sites. Peer pressure in revealing details to friends that could leave you vulnerable, from birthdays, email addresses to mobile phone numbers and work information. Loss of privacy, identity theft, stalking and in extreme instances grooming and child abuse. We are all...
