We have some very detailed and sophisticated radio controlled race cars are on their way to the US. These dNaNo radio-controlled race cars by Japanese Kyosho are packed with high-tech features, they are not the usual R/C toy cars that you’re used to. The dNaNo race cars are the 1:43 scale replicas and packed with high-tech gyros, 2.4GHz radios and precision-crafted bodies. And each of them can be controlled via a USB connected device which lets you post your lap times on the web to compete with others. Each car has an ID tag that has been assigned during production....
Migros, a supermarket chain in Switzerland, got a brilliant idea for its underwear advertising campaign: they are modeled by good lookin’ singles who you can contact! In a wide-spread press release Migros announced to advertise their latest underwear worn by real singles, who are looking to meet and find a partner. The story quickly became a topic for the media, already giving the campaign a first ignition. 700 willing models applied and there from 26 where chosen. Following was a campaign that used real life singles modelling the underwear with possibility of the viewer to contact them over their...
Australian online-only electronics endeavor Kogan will actually make good on its claim to bring the world’s second Android-powered handset to market. Who? Exactly. Don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard of the company headed by Ruslan Kogan; if you live outside of Australia there was hardly a reason to. We’ll bring you up to speed in three sentences: Kogan is a small Australian startup. Last month it gained a bit of notoriety when Ruslan Kogan claimed he would develop, manufacture and begin selling the world’s second Android-powered smartphone for less than US$200 before year-end. Pretty much no one believed...
As the world’s first auto maker, Mitsubishi has announced it developed a technique that lets the company use bamboo fibers in automotive interiors for reinforcement. What may sound weird at first, has a serious background. Mitsubishi wants to reduce CO2 emissions by using plant-based materials in its cars. The company is cutting bamboos into strips, removing the joints and finally crushing them. After that, hot steam is used to loosen the fibers, resulting in “green” material that can be used instead of artificial material. The first cars in which bamboo fibers were used as tailgate trim in several iMiEV...
Just as we're coming to grips with the entire netbook phenomenon, low end manufacturer Coby comes up with something even lamer. "[Midget PCs] are smaller than a netbook but not THAT small." Midget PCs. Lovely. What's makes a midget PC different than a netbook? If you listen to Coby's marketing director, they're a whole new category of computer meant for leaner times. As far as I can tell though, the PoqetMate-7 and PoqetMate-9 are just netbooks, albeit extremely cheap ones. Coby hasn't offered many specs to ponder, but the models, primarily differentiated by screen size (7in and 9in) will run...
The only rings I've ever liked are nipple rings, The Lord of the Rings, wedding rings—I collect them—and Ringo Starr. I love these silver Lego rings, though. You can customize them putting any brick you want on top. As you can see in the gallery, you can use any Lego brick or piece you want to customize them. They come in three different models, with one ($140), two ($151) and four studs ($165). [Edition Mathea via ]...
MacRumors is reporting that the organizers of the MacWorld San Fransisco 2009 have extended early registration until December 8th. If the rumors are correct, this year promises to be exciting due to the hoped for updates to the iMac and Mac Mini, as well as the expected refresh of the remainder of the Cinema displays. Also expected (however unconfirmed by Apple, of course) is the announcement of a 32GB iPhone. Previous versions of the iPhone have been limited in size due to the availability of larger, single memory chips. However in August, Toshiba announced that they would begin mass...
With nearly every company (seriously, basically all of them) rolling out a tiny projector, it's getting pretty hard to stand out from the crowd -- and Adtec's two new MP15A Series projectors don't look like they're going to push the envelope in any way. Specwise, they're going to be nearly identical to the rest of the bunch, with 15 ANSI lumens, a 200:1 contrast ratio, and VGA 640 x 480 resolution, and they'll boast an LED lamp with about a 20,000 hour life. The two models -- the 15AW is white, 15AB is black -- will be available in...
Clothing designer, artist and teacher Howard Tangye gives us an unusual look at models, likely to inspire allusions to Schiele. The etched lines draw out a specific moment in time and the eyes seem to be sharing a conversation, listening to someone go on. You can almost predict what they are about to say, responding to you with compassion, yet keeping their guard up at the same time. His work is a combination of judgment, humanity and fabulous-ness, darling. He also puts these images on t-shirts, I am off to purchase one tomorrow. Where you ask? Central St. Martins...
iPhone only: Normally, getting free Wi-Fi at one of AT&T's 20,000 or so hotspots requires opening a launch page in mobile Safari, entering your phone number, clicking the link in a text message, then repeating at every new hotspot or every 24 hours. Fun stuff, but free (until Friday, Dec. 5) iPhone app Easy Wi-Fi for AT&T can make it much simpler. Enter your AT&T number into the app's settings, then when you're in range of an AT&T hotspot (and the app will verify that you are), you simply hit the "Log In" button, and you're on your way. There...
That was quick. Having only lasted in the market for nine months, Pentax has discontinued their K200D DSLR in Japan. Whether or not that will trickle down to the US remains to be seen (we’ve inquired about it) and leaves the Pentax lineup with only two models, the K2000 and K20D. Will Pentax announce the K300 at the PMA show early next year or will they take their time and reassess the future of their SLR division? via RiceHigh...
Filed under: Displays, JVC, Projector Clearly, just one hue for JVC's DLA-HD750 1080p projector wasn't enough, but the outfit's making darn sure that few people ever see the alternative color. Just 200 of the all white DLA-HD750-W models will ever be released, and so far as we can tell, they'll all be up for grabs in Japan. As for specs, you can expect a delightful Full HD native resolution, 50,000:1 contrast ratio, 900 lumens, twin HDMI ports, VGA / S-Video / composite inputs and a ¥756,000 ($7,940) sticker. What? You didn't expect such a rare beast to be a bargain,...
