New Yorker Film Festival: The 5 Scariest Movies Ever? — Ben Greenman of the New Yorker presents his list of the five scariest movies of all time. They are: 1. ???Texas Chainsaw Massacre,??? Tobe Hooper (1974) 2. ???The Silence of the Lambs,??? Jonathan Demme (1991) 3. ???The Body Snatcher,??? Robert Wise (1945) 4. ???Night of the Hunter,??? Charles Laughton (1955) 5. ???Mulholland Drive,??? David Lynch (2001) David Lynch is the master of the eerie, which has also been called the uncanny, and his strongest films successfully deliver shock-horror at the conclusion of scenes that are either comically mundane or traditionally suspenseful. Many filmgoers remember ???Mulholland Drive??? mainly for Robert...

Love her. *psst, she's better than Nicole* - Michael W. May
@MWM *psst, you're right* - Mark Wilson

agree with edythe. I didn't even recognize her in the photo. - Mark Wilson
Mmmm, hubba hubba. - Grant Fitzgerald
Channeling Amy Winehouse in that one. - Yolanda
Neither of them come close to our Cate :) All I can remember Naomi Watts from is the ad in the 80s where she turned down a date with Tom Cruise for "mum's cooking a lamb roast." I'm rather ambivalent towards her - Patricia Hanrahan
I was blown away by her in Mulholland Dr. and just about everything since. Don't get me wrong, Cate and Kate (Winslet) I would rank higher. But Naomi still rates pretty high with me. - Michael W. May
I didn't see "those scenes" in Mulholland Drive coming, but once I saw them, I saw them many, many more times.... - Joey Gibson
And don't ask me why Cate/Kate go together. In my mind, they just do. - Michael W. May

Since we were on the subject of timeless film, he volunteered that when his daughter thinks of true class in film fashion, she does not summon up names like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Jennifer Aniston, or even Angelina Jolie. Instead, her icons are Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. Purely from a style perspective, this is understandable. But both Hepburn and Kelly, whatever their off-set shenanigans (and there were some), understood how...

Samsung's Cellphone Form-Factor Patents Are Weird [Samsung]Unwired View just dug through several of Samsung's patents to get at what the types of form factors possibly rolling out of their trough in the near future. They're all weird. There's sliders three keyboard pieces that form together to make one Voltron keyboard, one that has a dual-screen clamshell (which we've seen before in other people's patents), one with OLED hard-keys that change displays depending on where you are (think Optimus) and one with a display that stretches from normal size to King Kong/Naomi Watts/weird bestiality theme size. We're not sure how these will actually play out on phones,...
